Kingdom of Firing
The Kingdom of Firing is a country located in the south-west of the Isle of Averland, and is among the largest. The Kingdom has a population of roughly 2.5 million souls spread out over an area nearly 75,000 kilometers squared. Its population is largely human with a sizeable minority of halflings and smaller number of other races. The Gabinese Pantheon is the dominant religion, and worship of the God Strang is particularly common, especially among the nobility.
It is currently ruled by King Gerhard the First, a king renowned for his patronage of the arts. King Gerhard inherited the throne following his father’s death during the War of the Boar in the year 861 by the Imperial Calendar. His controversial outlawing of slavery has plagued his reign, and he is considered a weak king by much of the Firingian Aristocracy.
The country has a diverse climate and geography, ranging from hillands and mountains in the northwest to swamps and marshes in the south-west. The Great Forest occupies much of the western lands of Firing, while the south and east are bountiful and fertile. The great cities of Alderwon and Sommerstad are located in the east and south respectively.
